ABOUT

History of the Club

In the 1950s, a group of locals decided they wanted a place in which to meet and socialise. They moved into an empty building on Broadway, purchasing equipment from all over the Wairarapa and Wellington. This became the Carteton branch of the RSA, which has been in operation since the end of the First World War

On March 6, 1971, the Carterton RSA began operating as a chartered club. The first secretary was Owen Goodin, and Jim Yule was the manager.

Over the years, the building has been renovated and extended into what it is now, with the fantastic facilities that are available today.
